When John first moved down to Cleveland in July his company put him up in a furnished two bedroom apartment. We were extremely thankful for this because it meant we didn't have to pay rent and a mortgage (while we were waiting for our house in Ohio to sell) and it meant we didn't have to move any large furniture down here. The apartment worked really well when it was just John down here. When Reagan and I moved down here in September (after we were blessed with a quick sale of our house in Ohio) the apartment started to feel a little cramped. I can't believe how much other "stuff" we brought into a furnished apartment! Even though we were a little cozy, we were still very thankful for the apartment because it allowed us to save up a little bit more money for our house.
When we closed on our house in mid October, we were again thankful to have the apartment to stay at while we did a little painting and got the hardwood floors refinished. We were anxious to finally move into our house in mid November. Unfortunately, the move came at the same time as a big software conversion at work for John, so he was a little overwhelmed and tired! Now if we can just get someone to finish unpacking all our boxes. Moving makes you realize how much unneeded junk you have!
Our Apartment! Lucky number 7!
Nice and cozy inside!
Look closely and you can see Reagan!
Reagan is ready to help out!
Before we painted the dining room!
After...and before the floors had their final stain on them. Next project is to get rid of that really ugly chandelier!
Speaking of projects...we don't have a shortage of them in this house. We've painted a lot of the house, but our house was built when wallpaper was popular. Needless to say, we aren't real fans of it!
Yes, this wallpaper is on ever inch of wall in the kitchen...including a closet (which does have doors, they were off while we did the floors). I'm not really looking forward to taking all this down, but it will look so much better when it is gone!
And who wouldn't want wallpaper all over the bathroom also!
And so this bathroom doesn't feel left out either, it has some more "pretty" wallpaper! Not to mention the wonderful mirror this bathroom also has.
While there are many projects we eventually want to get to, we really love this house. I think the best part is the woods behind the backyard. These are much prettier to look at instead of another house! We feel very blessed to be living where we are. There is also plenty of room for visitors anytime someone is coming this way!
And just because I know you want to see a few pictures of Reagan, I've included some.
This is what happens when you get in a fight with the bathtub, and the bathtub wins.
You'll be seeing this cute picture again when you get a Christmas card from us! Hopefully that will be before Christmas!
I didn't get a lot of pictures from Thanksgiving, but I'll try to get the ones I did take posted soon...as in before Christmas hopefully!
